I sincerely believe you can care deeply about craft, outcomes, and people, and still have fun doing it. I actively look for teammates who share that combination.

Curiosity is how I find the actual problem.

Most briefs describe a symptom. I ask questions until I understand the cause. That instinct came from years of agency work where speed required knowing what to ignore and what to chase.

I believe in prioritizing effort.

Many years in agency life taught me that design is an investment. As stewards of that investment, we should make sure we are putting the most effort toward aspects with the most impact. Time and energy are finite; it's important to make sure they are being used responsibly.

I build teams that actually want to work together.

Great products aren't solo acts. I've hired, mentored, and collaborated across design, engineering, and product, and I've seen firsthand how much psychological safety affects the quality of the output. I work hard at the culture side of the job because I've seen what happens when you don't.

I bring authenticity and kindness to my craft.

I’m a straight-forward, heart-on-my-sleeve kind of fella. Over the years I’ve realized how much of an asset this mindset can be. When there are challenges, I address them head-on with empathy. I work hard at creating good vibes in all my encounters.
