I’m a seasoned, but not salty, designer. In keeping up with the cooking theme, I’ll add that my core ingredient has always been the user (Soylent Green, anyone?). What makes my meals drool-worthy are the strategic solutions, paired with a top-notch presentation.

I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects in diverse industries from startups all the way up to industry giants like First American, Sysco, YouTube and the U.S. Federal Reserve.

I’m known to frequently remind folks about how great our field can be and how important it is to have fun along the way. I firmly believe that good vibes and enthusiasm translate to great work. As I mentioned on the homepage, I’m a dreamer — a dreamer that gets $#*% done!

I’m curious by nature. I listen, observe, and ask questions.

Cutting through the noise and getting to the root issue is perhaps my greatest strength. This skill is fueled by genuine curiosity about people, problems, and finding solutions.

I rally the troops. No individual can make a great product. It takes a team.

Good working relationships are so important, especially in cross-functional teams. I work extremely hard at bringing levity and camaraderie to my process. This combined with a sense of shared ownership hugely adds to any projects’ success.

I believe in prioritizing effort.

Many years in agency life taught me that design is an investment. As stewards of that investment, we should make sure we are putting the most effort toward aspects with the most impact. Time and energy are finite; it’s important to make sure they are being used responsibly.

I bring authenticity and kindness to my craft.

I’m a straight-forward, heart-on-my-sleeve kind of fella. Over the years I’ve realized how much of an asset this mindset can be. When there are challenges, I address them head-on with empathy. I work hard at creating good vibes in all my encounters.
